VOLUNTEER

Parents are the back bone of Chatham Christian School. They provide the nurture in the home and the desire to have their children succeed in the role that God has determined for them.

Parents are also the back bone of our school in the various ways in which they volunteer within the school. Research shows that students do better academically when parents are involved in their education.

When enrolling children at Chatham Christian School, parents commit to the “Getting Involved For The Students” (G.I.F.T.S.) program in addition to the financial commitment of paying tuition. This program promotes all the different opportunities for volunteering and encourages everyone to get involved. Parents are asked to commit to approximately 25 volunteer hours per year. As a parent run school there are numerous opportunities for parents to share their gifts, such as:

  • Being a classroom helper who works with the students or helps out the teacher
  • Going on class trips
  • Serving on committees that deal with program, building and grounds, to financing
  • Helping in the library
  • Fundraising
  • Serving on the school board
